Gorky's Smokin' Grill

After the disgrace that was the BBG (Big Black Grill), I was depressed and fully convinced that Southwestern PA was fully incapable of producing a high quality BBQ joint. Then, in a vision from our Lard and Savory, Meatsus Crust, I was told to venture to the (not so) far away land of Mount Pleasant. There I found a small hole in the wall BBQ joint with grass parking named Gorky's Smokin' Grill. This joint itself is hot off the grill, having just entered the BBQ arena in 2012. Here's what they brought to the table.

Ribs. I wasn't sure if I would be able to face Southwestern PA ribs again after the last debacle. Who the hell am I kidding? I will alway love ribs. Let fucking go.

The Presentation: Glistening. Hot. Tons of bark. Sauce to the side. Glorious.

The Portions: Just look at the picture above. I didn't finsh and got two meals out of this bad boy. That should tell you all you need ot know.

The Taste: Amazing. The wide array of sauces, tastefully served on the side, provided a whole notha level of taste to the already life altering ribs. The outer layer of bark was masterfully cultivated to a satisfying crunch that did not compromise the tenderness of the ribs.

Cornbread. The last time I reviewed cornbread, it was less spectacular. Shall I have compared it to a mid-summer's shit? Yes. That would have been fitting. Anyway, I'm not one to dwell in the past. Gorky's cornbread, let get to it.

The Presentation: Served on a traditional glass plate, pre-covered in warm butter. Now, I know what you're saying, "what if we didn't want butter on the cornbread?". I'll let my good friend Charlie Kelly field that question on my behalf. Take it away Charlie.

Will be back soon...
For my birthday cornbread cake.

The Portions: Very respectable for cornbread. I'm not sure what else I can say here.

The Taste: The best cornbread to ever grace my face. Sweet, but not too sweet. There were actual kernels of corn within the golden squares! I WANT MY 23RD BIRTHDAY CAKE TO BE MADE OF THIS EXACT CORNBREAD. Someone show my mother this post, she doesn't speak to me anymore.
